Last Updated: 2026-10-21
BaseMelon (“BaseMelon”, “website“, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, what we do with it and your choices and rights. By using our website, you confirm that you have agreed to, read, and understood this Privacy Policy (which also includes the Cookie Policy).
BaseMelon is unofficial fan website dedicated to the game Clash of Clans and is not endorsed by Supercell. For more information, see Supercell's Fan Content Policy.
Information we collect
- Account Information: When you create an account on BaseMelon, we collect your email address. This information is required to create and manage your user profile.
- Profile Information: If you create a user profile, we may collect additional information you choose to provide, such as your username, Clash of Clans player tag, and in-game username.
- Clash of Clans Account: To upload bases you link your Clash of Clans player tag. We confirm that the player is yours by sending the one-time API token you copy from the game settings to the official Clash of Clans API by Supercell; the token is used once and never stored. We then store the public player information returned by that API (in-game name, player tag, Town Hall and Builder Hall levels, experience level, league, and clan) and refresh it every hour. By default, others only see your nickname, avatar, social links and your bases on BaseMelon, marked as a verified player; your player tag and this game information are shown publicly only if you choose so when linking your player or later on your profile page. When you link your player, bases you uploaded earlier are credited to it if you always used one author name for them (or the author name is your in-game name), and that author name becomes your nickname if you have none yet; otherwise your in-game name becomes your nickname, unless it is reserved or not accepted by our name check (see Sharing Information), and you can change it at any time. Your email address is never shown publicly. See the FAQ for details.
- Avatar: With a linked Clash of Clans player, you can choose an avatar from the game or upload your own picture. An uploaded picture is cropped to a square, re-encoded without its metadata and checked against our rules before it is stored (see Sharing Information). Your avatar is shown publicly with your player and on the bases you built.
- Social Links: With a linked Clash of Clans player, you can add your YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram and Twitch profiles and a Discord server invite. This is optional. We store only the usernames and the invite code, build the links ourselves and show them publicly on your player card.
- User-Uploaded Content: When you upload Clash of Clans base images to our website, we store these images on our servers. Once a base is approved and published, it becomes publicly visible to other users. Published bases stay on the website, even if you delete your account: other players copy them into their villages, rate them and share them, so they become part of our public base collection. Bases waiting for review can still be approved and published. Published bases keep the builder name shown at upload, unless you choose to remove your name from the bases credited to you when you delete your account. Before every upload you confirm the base requirements, which say so.
- Usage Information: We may collect information about your use of our website, such as the pages you visit, the links you click, and other actions you take.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information about your interactions with our website.
Use of Information
- We may use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our website, to communicate with you, and to personalize your experience.
- Account Management: We use your email address to create and manage your account, verify your identity, and maintain the security of your profile.
- Transactional Emails: We send transactional emails only, which include account verification, password reset requests, and important account-related notifications. We do not send promotional or marketing emails.
- We may also use your information to respond to your inquiries and to fulfill your requests.
Sharing Information
- We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
- Avatar Checks: When you upload your own avatar, we send the picture to OpenAI's moderation and image analysis services to check it for nudity, violence, hate or political symbols, drugs, offensive text and photos of minors. Pictures that do not pass are not stored by us. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Name Checks: When your nickname, your profile link or a social link username is set or changed (including the nickname taken from your in-game name when you link your player), we send the new text to OpenAI's moderation service to check it for insults, hate and sexual content. Texts that do not pass are not saved.
- Advertising Partners: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and other advertising partners may collect information about your visits to this and other websites through cookies and similar technologies to provide you with relevant advertisements. See our Advertising section for more details.
- We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with legal requirements or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BaseMelon or others.

Your Choices
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account yourself on your profile page. This immediately deletes your email address, nickname, avatar, social links and the link to your Clash of Clans player, and signs you out on every device. Ratings you gave remain as anonymous votes. Bases you uploaded remain on the website as described under User-Uploaded Content. If you choose, your name is also removed from the bases on BaseMelon that are credited to you as their builder. We cannot change copies of your bases that others have shared outside BaseMelon. If you need help, contact us at [email protected].
- Avatar: You can change or remove your avatar at any time on your profile page. A replaced or removed uploaded picture is deleted from our servers.
- Nickname and Social Links: You can change your nickname and change or remove your social links at any time in the Account tab of your profile page.
- Player Tag and Game Stats: They are hidden by default. You can show or hide them at any time in the Account tab of your profile page.
- Public Profile: Once your first base is published, your bases are listed on a public profile page under a profile link you choose (basemelon.com/coc-bases/your-name). You can change it once every 30 days; earlier links lead to your current profile. Names of Supercell, BaseMelon and popular creators are reserved. After you delete your account, the profile page is removed.
- Transactional Emails: As we only send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, etc.), these cannot be opted out of while maintaining an active account, as they are essential for account security and functionality.
- Personalized Ads: You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Cookies: You can control cookies through your web browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences and to delete cookies that have already been stored on your device.
- Please note that disabling cookies may affect your experience on our website, may limit your ability to access certain features, and may result in non-personalized advertisements being displayed.
